Dana-Farber, MIT partner on $250M effort to cure most challenging cancers | Boston Business Journal

Two Massachusetts powerhouses in cancer research have joined together with three other partners to find treatments to some of the most challenging cancers, a pledge for which President Joe Biden has already signaled support. The Break Through Cancer foundation is supported by a $250 million pledge from Virginia real estate moguls Mr. and Mrs. William Goodwin Jr. and the estate of William Hunter Goodwin, III, their son who passed away of cancer in 2020. The gift is one of the largest ever to be given in support of cancer research in the U.S.
