Serial Biopsies Reveal Immune Activation During Treatment for Recurrent Glioblastoma

A recent multi-institutional study has demonstrated that repeated sampling of brain tumor tissue can reveal immune system activation in response to cancer treatment for patients with recurrent glioblastoma (GBM). The research, conducted by the Accelerating GBM Therapies Through Serial Biopsies TeamLab and led by investigators from the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute, highlights the potential of serial biopsies to detect treatment responses that may not be visible through traditional imaging techniques.
